An Oklahoma man is injured while driving a go cart on a public street.

 The accident occurred just before 6 o'clock last night (Tuesday night) when 60-year-old Kevin Allen of Welch was driving a go cart northbound on 4450 Road near the Kansas/Oklahoma line or about 3 miles southeast of Chetopa. Allen failed to yield to oncoming traffic as he approached Treece Road and was struck by a 2008 Nissan driven by 20-year-old Chance Thomas of Oswego. Allen sustained serious injuries in the crash and was taken to Mercy Hospital in Joplin. Thomas was uninjured.
