Central Missouri Firefighter Dies in the Line of Duty

 

 A Central Missouri firefighter has died during a swift water rescue attempt.

 

 The Boone County Fire Department says Assistant Chief Matt Tobben died yesterday morning during a rescue operation. Tobben and his fellow firefighters had already rescued two individuals when the rescue boat he was in overturned. Chief Tobben was thrown from the boat and drowned in the waters of Bear Creek, near Columbia, Missouri.
