USD 446 is taking advantage of the summer months by completing maintenance around the district.
The July board meeting began with the reorganization of members to serve on different committees. Board President Scott Hines made the motion for the new assignments moving forward.
Superintendent Jason McAfee gave an update regarding summer maintenance being done at different buildings in the district. Flooring is set to begin at the Early Learning Center, while paint crews are working in Jefferson this week.
McAfee says another issue that's been addressed is an issue with the sewer line.
The USD 446 board will be having a special meeting tomorrow night at 5:30 p.m. to discuss property insurance options, and approve a contract moving forward.
The next school board meeting will be August 12th at 7 p.m. in the Community Room of Independence High School.
