A southwest Missouri man has been arrested in connection to a fatal hit-and-run.
The accident occurred on Friday evening when 60-year-old Sheldonna Wood was working in her yard near Loma Linda, Missouri, along the Missouri/Oklahoma border. A Dodge Dakota pickup left the roadway and struck Wood, then fled the scene. Wood was pronounced dead on the scene. Witnesses to the accident were able to give a description of the vehicle and law enforcement issued a BOLO for the truck.
On Saturday morning, Jasper County authorities located the pickup truck and arrested the driver, 35-year-old Richard Taylor of Racine, Missouri. Taylor has been transferred to the Newton County Jail and faces multiple charges including Felony Leaving the Scene of an Accident and Felony DWI.
