A southwest Missouri fire chief is arrested for DWI.

 The Missouri State highway Patrol says 51-year-old Michael Denney was arrested early Friday morning on suspicion of Driving While Intoxicated. Denney is the Fire Chief of the Nevada, MO, Fire Department and the Emergency Management Director for the City of Nevada.

Authorities say Denney has responded to an active fire scene and was driving a City of Nevada vehicle when he was stopped. He was taken to the Nevada Police Department, where he was cited then released.
