A former member of the Kansas Jayhawks Track and Field team is headed to Paris for the Olympics.
Midland Texas native Bryce Hoppel took the gold medal in the men's 800-meters at the U.S. Track and Filed Olympic Trials, setting a new personal best and breaking a 32-year-old meet record. Hoppel also competed at the Tokyo Olympics in 2020, where he qualified for the semi-finals. This time, he hopes to find a spot on the podium.
The 2024 Summer Games begin on July 26th in Paris.
