Strong storms in south central Kansas cause a fireworks tent to collapse, injuring three people.
The incident happened yesterday evening as a band of thunderstorms moved through the Wichita area. Strong winds hit Andover around 6pm with gusts around 70mph. Witnesses say the Tent City Fireworks stand at 159th Street East and Kellogg began to shake in the strong winds. Workers helped people escape the collapsed tent and then tried to save what fireworks they could.
In all, three people were injured in the collapse and one person was transported to a nearby hospital.
