A portion of US-75 south of Bartlesville is closed after a section of the road buckled due to the extreme heat.

 The section of US-75 between Ramona and Vera was closed after multiple vehicles reported damage due to the compromised roadway. A spokesperson for the Oklahoma Department of Transportation says this kind of heat stress can happen in places where two sections of road meet or around fixed potholes or patches. ODOT reminds drivers to use caution and be aware that buckling can occur during heat waves.

ODOT says says if your car was damaged by this road buckling, you need to file a claim with the state through the Oklahoma Office of Management and Enterprise Services.
