A car turned onto train tracks just south of Joplin on Saturday night.

 The driver mistakenly thought they were turning onto a street when they turned onto some train tracks around 9:30 Saturday night. The car became stuck on the tracks and the driver was unable to move the vehicle. Fortunately, all occupants of the car were able to escape before the vehicle was struck by a C-P-K-C train traveling southbound. The train pushed the small car several hundred feet down the tracks.

The incident remains under investigation by C-P-K-C officials.
