Nominations are now being accepted for farmers and ranchers to serve on local Farm Service Agency county committees.
According to the Kansas Livestock Association, these committees make important decisions about how federal farm programs are administered locally, as well as county office employment and other agricultural issues. All nomination forms for the 2024 election must be postmarked or received at the local FSA office by August 1st. Producers can contact their local FSA office to find out about eligibility and how to get involved if their area is up for election this year. The local FSA office serving Montgomery and Chautauqua Counties is located at 410 Peter Pan Road, Suite A, in Independence.
