A possible solution that doesn't have to do with county-wide zoning is presented to the Labette County Commission. Commissioner Cole Proehl says they could use their role as the Labette County Board of Health to put regulations in place on a case-by-case basis.

Proehl says the commission would have to be willing to talk to and negotiate with these renewable energy companies whether that's wind, solar or battery.

Citizens in attendance at the meeting voiced their agreeance with Proehl's proposal.  However, there wasn't much more discussion by the other two commissioners and no action was taken on the recommendation.
