The Butler County Sheriff's Office is looking for help from the public in finding the remains of two men who have been missing for decades.
Franklin “Punkie” Harrod disappeared in July 1997. It was later discovered he had been the victim of a murder-for-hire plan involving his wife Kelly and two other people. All three were found guilty and sentenced to prison, but Harrod's remains were never found. However, it was during that investigation that a link was found between that crime and the disappearance of another man named Ricky Nelms in 1988. Nelms was last seen with a person who was a relative of one of the suspects in the Franklin case.
Butler County Sheriff Monty Hughey believes both men were buried somewhere in Butler County. There is a substantial reward being offered for information that leads to the location of Harrod and Nelms.
