A Riverton man is dead after a Wednesday accident with a trash truck.

 63-year-old Tyrone Palmer was the driver of a trash truck and was outside of the vehicle, loading trash into it, when the truck slipped into gear and ran him over. The accident occurred around 4:30 yesterday afternoon, just east of Riverton. Palmer was pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident occurred on private property and no other vehicles were involved. The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office continues to investigate the incident.
