The Nowata County Commissioners met yesterday morning due to the Memorial Day holiday, and started with announcing the hiring of several new deputies.

  Nowata County Sheriff Jason McClain also spoke before the commission. He asks the group for a budget increase in order to give raises to county employees.

The Nowata County Commissioners will meet again Monday at 9 am at the Nowata County Courthouse Annex. The meeting is open to the public.
