Storm Survey From Claremore/Pryor Tornado

National Weather Service Meteorologists out of Tulsa continue to survey damage from this weekend's tornadoes.

A long-track supercell produced a number of tornadoes, some of which have been confirmed as EF2 and EF3 strength. The tornado that hit Claremore was an EF3, with wind speeds 145 to 155 mph. The path length is currently estimated at 23 miles and at least 1900 yards. The tornado developed northeast of Owasso, moved through Claremore and damaged numerous homes and businesses.  Nineteen injuries occurred in Rogers County from the tornado, which continued to produce EF2 damage as it moved into Mayes County where it destroyed a mobile home where two fatalities and four injuries occurred. The tornado produced EF3 damage to homes about four miles northwest of Pryor and then dissipated about two miles northwest of Pryor. This storm also produced extensive straight-line wind damage.

Other tornado surveys include those near Lake Hudson, Salina and Bull Hollow, which were all rated EF1. An EF3 tornado also hit Decator, Arkansas.
