The Coffeyville Police Department have been receiving reports about counterfeit bills circulating businesses around town.
The reports started last Wednesday, May 22nd. CPD wants to make the public and businesses aware of the fake bills and provide businesses with what to look for in regards to the recent incidents. CPD asks all businesses and individuals to be observant when accepting money.
If anyone has a doubt about the legitimacy of the money contact CPD and an officer will come out to check the bill. CPD says not to return the bill to the customer until an officer has had a chance to investigate it.
