The State of Kansas sees a slight increase in DUI related arrests but a decrease in fatality crashes and deaths.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reports there were 21 DUI arrests during the Memorial Day Weekend, which ran from 6:00pm on Friday through 11:59pm on Monday. This is up from 20 in 2023 and 17 in 2022.
There was one fatality crash during the holiday weekend with three fatalities in that crash. This is down from four crashes with seven fatalities in 2022. The KHP worked no DUI related crashes for the second straight year. The full KHP report for Memorial Day weekend can be found here.
