Tornado Rips Through Claremore

Several deaths are being reported in the region from last night's tornadoes.

A tornado ripped through the Claremore and Pryor area and officials are confirming two deaths in Mayes County, Oklahoma. Details about the dead are not immediately available according to Emergency Management Deputy Director Mike Dunham.  Officials also said at least five people were injured near the west side of Pryor between the county line and city limits.  Search and rescue as well as cleanup efforts continue this morning.  As of this morning, there is no power or fuel available in Claremore and roads remain closed.

At least two people were reported killed in Arkansas, including a 26-year-old woman who was found dead outside a destroyed home in Olvey, a small community in Boone County, according to county Office of Emergency Management employee Daniel Bolen.

Another person died in Benton County, Arkansas. County Communications Director Melody Kwok says multiple other people were injured and that emergency workers were still responding to calls.
