Officials in Sedan are preparing the city swimming pool to open later this month.
At this week's Sedan city council meeting, council members discussed with city crews a timeline for opening the swimming pool for the summer season. City Clerk Lana Robinson noted that the pool was having some difficulty finding lifeguards. One of the reasons for this difficulty is that many lifeguards feel they must act as babysitters for young children left unattended at the pool. Robinson says there is an easy solution to the problem.
After some discussion, council member Adam Clark suggested a compromise.
The rule change was unanimously accepted. No firm opening date was given, but the city hopes to have the pool open by mid June.
