Montgomery County Sheriff's Deputy Quinton Sumpter is lauded for his quick-thinking in saving a child's life during a traffic stop.
Deputy Sumpter was on patrol in Coffeyville on March 26th when he observed a speeding vehicle. The Deputy pulled the car over and discovered the female driver in a state of distress. She told Sumpter that her child was not breathing. Deputy Sumpter saw the child was turning blue and immediately began life-saving measures. When the child began to breathe again, Sumpter placed the child in his cruiser and rushed to the emergency room at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center where doctors took over treatment.
The child made a full recovery and doctors credit Deputy Sumpter with saving the child's life.
