The City of Parsons gets some good financial news.
At this week's city commission meeting, a representative from the accounting firm that conducted an audit of the 2023 city finances presented the firm's findings. Kyle Spielbusch of Jared, Gilmore, and Phillips of Chanute, says the city's finances are clean.
In other business, commissioners heard from a resident who has been circulating a petition to have the name of Glenwood Park changed to Frederick Douglass Park. After a lengthy discussion, the commission agreed to add it to the agenda as an action item for the next regular commission meeting on June 3rd.
