The 70th Annual Verdigris Valley Art Exhibit is coming up in June and all area artists age 18 and older are invited to submit their work.
Art work will be accepted at the Independence Historical Museum & Art Center Thursday, June 6th through Saturday, June 8th. Art categories include Oil & Acrylic; Watercolor; Mixed Media; Drawing or Pastel; and 3-dimensional. Cash prizes will be awarded in categories with five or more entries. Prizes include: $250 for Best in Show; $200 for 1st place; $100 for 2nd place; $200 for People's Choice.
The entry fee is $15 for the first peice and additional pieces are $10 each.
Kansas landscape artist Cally Krallman will judge the exhibits. She will explain her winning selections at a public reception on Friday, June 14th.
The submitted art works will be on display during regular museum hours through June 27th.
