Former Kansas attorney general officially files for the Republican primary for Kansas's Second Congressional District. Candidate Derek Schmidt says he is grateful for the support he has received from Kansans in every part of the district since announcing his candidacy.
Schmidt says he knows his goals if he is elected to serve this district. Schmidt served 10 years as a state senator for Kansas's 15th District before serving 12 years as the state's attorney general.
Joining Schmidt on the Republican primary ballot are Jeff Kahrs and Shawn Tiffany. Kansas's primary is Tuesday, August 6th.
