The recent hail storm in Caney caused major damage to the patrol fleet of the Caney Police Department. The damage was lessened somewhat after a council vote to purchase two used vehicles from the Sedan Police Department. Caney Police Chief Ike Dye explains.

 Dye says Caney is not the only department transitioning away from the Ford Explorer police vehicles.

 Dye says the goal is to try for USDA grants in the near future to replace older and worn out vehicles.

 In other business, the finances of the grocery store were discussed, especially during the public comments portion of the meeting. A presentation was given concerning the Caney Public Library, and approval was given for temporary use of goats to clean a property in the 400 block of Wood Street.
