Severe Weather Chance This Afternoon

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A TORNADO WATCH IN

EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM CDT THIS EVENING FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS

IN KANSAS THIS WATCH INCLUDES 5 COUNTIES

 

IN SOUTHEAST KANSAS

ALLEN                 LABETTE               MONTGOMERY

NEOSHO                WILSON

THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF CHANUTE, COFFEYVILLE, FREDONIA,

HUMBOLDT, INDEPENDENCE, IOLA, NEODESHA, AND PARSONS.


OKLAHOMA COUNTIES INCLUDED ARE

ADAIR                CHEROKEE            CRAIG
DELAWARE             MAYES               NOWATA
OTTAWA               ROGERS              TULSA
WAGONER              WASHINGTON

Isolated severe storms are possible this afternoon and evening for the four states.

 

Montgomery, Wilson and Washington Counties and and areas to the east will see a slightly better chance of severe weather which could develop between 3 and 9 p.m. The main hazards if storms develop include up to half-dollar sized hail, wind gusts to 70 mph and brief heavy rainfall. KGGF will provide severe weather coverage today if needed.
