The Labette County Commissioners hear an update from the Planning and Zoning board. Chairman Marc Jones, after recapping and giving his thoughts on Thursday's hearing, says he would like the commission to unanimously agree to make public a set of principals to support the planning and zoning board going forward.
There was a lot of discussion after the planning and zoning update between those in attendance, the three commissioners and County Counselor Brian Johnson about what could and couldn't be done either with or without zoning. The conversation among the board reached a tense point as they discussed the role of the zoning board.
No decision on zoning has been made in Labette County. The next meeting and hearing for the Planning and Zoning Board is Monday, June 24th at 6:00pm in Parsons. The next county commission meeting is next Tuesday, May 28th at 9:00am in the Commission Room in the County Courthouse in Oswego.
