A 16 year old person-of-interest sought in connection to a weekend shooting in Bartlesville has been located.
The juvenile male was reported by witnesses as the shooter who wounded an adult male in his mid 50s yesterday afternoon. The victim remains in critical but stable condition in a Tulsa hospital.
Washington County Sheriff's Deputies and Bartlesville Police sought the boy after he fled the scene on foot. The suspect was eventually located and questioned by authorities with a parent present.
After discussion with the District Attorney’s Office and given the information available, the juvenile was released to their parent. It has been determined the juvenile is a tribal member and the Cherokee Nation has been contacted as this investigation continues. A Cherokee Nation Marshall will be working with WCSO investigators as this investigation moves forward.
The original incident occurred because of a dispute between the alleged suspect and another juvenile. At some point, an the victim intervened and weapons became involved. At this time, no arrests have been made.
