A 65 year old woman was believed to have drowned after falling into the spillway at the Toronto Lake Dam southwest of Yates Center over the weekend.

 The woman was fishing on Saturday morning when her line became tangled and she fell into the water below. Emergency rescue crews quickly began looking for the woman, but the rescue became a recovery effort after several hours of searching failed to find the woman.

Fortunately, the woman was discovered alive and clinging to a bank in the Verdigris River about a mile into Wilson County. She was pulled from the water and treated for some minor cuts and bruises.
