A Porsche is left split into two halves after a high speed accident in Joplin.

 The accident occurred late last night as the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed, causing the driver to lose control. The vehicle then struck a utility pole and a building before coming to a stop nearly a block after the initial impact. Two people were in the car at the time of the accident – a male driver and a female passenger. Both were taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. Their names and conditions have not yet been released.

Authorities are investigating the crash as a DWI.
