Quick action by Caney Police and the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office saves man from attempted murder.

 Montgomery County Deputies responded to a call around 8pm on Saturday evening regarding a shooting and a vehicle chase near Coffeyville. The incident occurred near US-166 and County Road 3500. Deputies discovered the victim – Christopher Flack of Skiatook, Oklahoma – who told them he was being pursued by a black Dodge Challenger from Caney. Shots had been fired at Flack's vehicle but he was uninjured.

 Deputies located the Challenger at the Caney residence of 54 year old Shawn Timmerman. Timmerman was taken into custody without incident and taken to the Montgomery County Department of Corrections where he was booked on charges of attempted Second Degree Murder.

 The investigation is ongoing. When it is concluded the case will be reviewed by the County Attorney for appropriate charging.
