Good Academic News for USD 445

USD 445 Coffeyville hears some good academic news.

The Coffeyville Board of Education members heard good news from a building principal about student success on standardized testing. Community Elementary Principal Angie Krause says the current kindergarten students or the Class of 2036 has shown improvement in both math and reading.

The reading portion of the test measures student ability in phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension while math assesses knowledge of whole numbers, algebra and geometry. Krause says the test is adaptive, which means it gets more difficult as the student continues to answer questions correctly. Krause added that it was good to see such improvement over the course of the year.
