The Independence High School Forensics team was rewarded at the USD 446 School Board meeting.
Following a successful season that resulted in a 10th place state finish in 4A, the program received a $2500 donation from Thomas Connors with Cornerstone Warehousing. Additionally, the team was approved for a trip to Nationals in Des Moines, Iowa next month from June 14-22.
Additional items of business at the May board meeting was the approval of school handbooks for next school year, the purchase of textbooks and other supplemental materials, and an update regarding the graduation ceremony on Sunday at 1 p.m. from Superintendent Jason McAfee.
The USD 446 Board meets on the second Monday of each month at 7 p.m. in the Community Room of IHS.
