A woman has drowned in a creek in Cowley County.

 

The Cowley County Sheriff's Office and EMS responded Saturday afternoon to the report of two people in Grouse Creek, east of Arkansas City.

 

Sheriff Dave Falleti reports Sarah Ouellet was found in the creek, and was pulled from the water, with lifesaving measures attempted.

 

Oulett's son was found downstream clinging to a limb. Both Oulett and the boy were taken to the hospital, where Oulett was prounounced deceased. The boy is recovering.

 

Oulett was from the Winfield and Ark City area.
