Three FKHS Students Compete at State SkillsUSA

Three Field Kindley High School students compete in four contests at the State SkillsUSA conference in Hutchinson.

Junior Destiny Peyton competed in Job Skill Demo Open contest where she demonstrated how to do a two person stunt and talked about how cheer is a sport and how cheerleading takes a lot of strength and agility just like any other sport. Senior Paige Strimple competed in Job Skill demo A and she demonstrated how to wrap an ankle since she is interested in working in the medical field in the future. Senior Landon Graham competed in Job Interview, which consisted of filling out a job application, creating a portfolio for the graphic design job he was applying for, which included samples of work and then an interview with three judges. He also competed in Advertising Design. In this contest, he recreated a design that he was given and then a design from information he was given. Graham finished third place in Advertising Design.

The FKHS chapter was recognized for a membership increase and as a Quality Chapter. Adviser Beth Conrad says the students did a great job in each of their contests and she is very proud of them and the way they represented their SkillsUSA chapter and the school.
