State Legislature Continues Efforts on Tax Reform

The Kansas Legislature continues its struggle with Governor Laura Kelly over tax reform.

Governor Kelly says she wants to see tax cuts in the state but has vetoed the latest measure by the Legislature to pass a tax. Legislators then failed to override the Governor's veto. Kelly then proposed her own plan.

State Senator Virgil Peck says the sticking point for Governor Kelly seems to be the tax brackets.

Peck says the legislative proposal is a solid plan for reform.

Kelly says she will veto any tax bill that she feels would put the state in financial difficulty.
