The Kansas Bureau of Investigation and the Sumner County Sheriff's Office are investigating human remains found near Belle Plaine over the weekend.
On Friday afternoon, the Sumner County Sheriff's Office responded to a call in a rural part of the county after a man's body was discovered. The remains were taken to the Sedgwick County Regional Forensics Science Center in Wichita where an autopsy was performed. Authorities determined that the cause of death was foul play. The KBI and the Sumner County Sheriff's Office are working to determine the identity of the deceased man.
