Authorities in Barnsdall are still trying to assess the damage from last night's tornado and storms.

 Osage County Emergency Management Director Jerry Roberts says there was extensive damage to the town and confirms one person was fatally injured.

Authorities say there were an additional seven or eight injuries reported as well as one firefighter who was treated for chest pains. Roberts says the most important thing is for onlookers to stay away from the town so that clean up can begin.

The Osage County Commission held an emergency meeting today to begin the process of a disaster declaration.
