Abilene Police Locate Missing Child

 

 Police in Abilene locate a missing child with the help of a license plate reader.

 On April 18th, the A-P-D received an alert from a Flock license plate reader that a vehicle associated with a child abduction in Minnesota was in Abilene. Officers were able to locate the vehicle and discovered a 5 month old baby who had been taken by a non-custodial parent. The baby was taken into police custody and will be returned to the custodial parents in Minnesota. The Flock license plate readers are also used by cities in southeast Kansas including Pittsburg, Frontenac, Coffeyville, Caney, Independence, and Parsons.
