Altamont City Council Explains Reasoning Behind Pool Pass Hike

The Altamont City Council continues its discussion on the recent increase in the cost for season passes to the city pool.

At the Council's March 14th meeting, prices for season passes to the Altamont City Pool were increased by $5 the single passes and by $15 for the grandparents passes. Council Member Kyle Wiford says he's heard some chatter in the community regarding the issue. Wiford says the reason for the increase is to make the pool better for the community.

Wiford says the city is looking into the purchase of new, better pool-side furniture. He adds that the increase isn't something the Council takes lightly.

The daily cost for individuals to enter the pool has not increased. It remains at $2 per person for those ages 7 and up.
