Food Handler's Class Coming Up

A training opportunity is coming up for anyone who prepares food.

The Kansas State Research and Extension Wildcat District is conducting a ServSafe Food Handler education program on Friday, April 19th in Columbus, KS. Health, Food Safety and Nutrition Agent Holly Miner will be teaching the class, and she says this program is useful even if you don't work in the food-service industry.

The ServSafe Food Handler program provides education to help keep food safe. Preregistration is required by April 17th. Participants will receive a book in class and be evaluated at the end of class to receive a Food Handler’s Certificate, which is good for three years. The cost is $15 and Miner says if you want to save some money, it's best to take the class now.

The class will take place next Friday at 8 a.m at Medicalodges at 101 North Lee in Columbus, KS. A link to register is available here.
