Multiple fire departments and firefighters assist Northeastern Kansas with their wildfires.

Yesterday at around 1:00pm, Montgomery County formed a wildland task force and headed to Pottawatomie County. Units from Coffeyville, Cherryvale, Havana, Independence, and Liberty as well as the Neodesha Fire Department responded to a call for assistance in the Pottawatomie and Riley County fires. A total of six trucks and 12 firefighters responded.

The group has been deployed to Riley County for assignment and is expected to return late tomorrow evening.
