Police in McPherson nab a suspected car thief after chasing him through Walmart.

 Around 8am yesterday morning, McPherson police responded to reports of a man walking away from a vehicle in a ditch just north of Wichita. Upon arrival, officers discovered that the car had been stolen, but there was no suspect nearby.

Several hours later, officers were called to the same area about reports of a suspicious man going in and out of stores. The man matched the description of the earlier report. Officers located the suspect inside a Walmart and, when they confronted him, he fled through the store and out an emergency exit. Officers chased and eventually apprehended the suspect.

Police say the man was arrested on outstanding warrants and will face additional charges in McPherson County.
