Parsons Police peacefully resolve a stand off.
Yesterday evening, law enforcement was called to the area of 21st and Appleton after reports of an armed man barricading himself inside a house. P-P-D surrounded the house and advised the public to stay inside their homes or to avoid the area.
The armed man initially refused to come out of the house, but P-P-D officers were able to negotiate with the individual an d convince him to exit the residence. He surrendered without incident or injury. Police say the man was experiencing a mental health crisis and is currently getting appropriate care.
