Two Arrested for Burglary, Property Returned to Owner

A 911 call leads to the arrest of two on theft charges.

Yesterday just before 8:00am, a 911 call was transferred from the Coffeyville Police Department dispatch to the Montgomery County Sheriff's Department. The call was about an active burglary and theft northwest of Coffeyville near the industrial park. The caller told dispatch that the chain had been removed from their barn doors and they had seen a black Dodge Charger pull out of the barn and flee the property. The caller attempted to follow the vehicle but lost it.

CPD dispatch told their officers to be on the lookout for the vehicle. Shortly after, CPD officers located and stopped the vehicle. Deputies arrived on the scene and confirmed there was stolen property inside the vehicle. The driver, Robert Mikel of Coffeyville, and passenger Jacob Lind of Altamont were arrested for burglary, theft and criminal property damage. Deputies recovered the stolen property, which will be returned to the owner.
