Two Crawford Sheriff Vehicles Hit in a Hit-and-Run

Two Crawford County patrol vehicles are hit in a hit-and-run incident.

At 3:15am this morning, two deputies were at a traffic stop on K-126 and Westfield Road. The deputies had just arrested a man and woman and put them in the back of their patrol vehicles. The deputies were outside their vehicles with a third passenger when they heard and saw a truck approaching at a high rate of speed. One of the deputies pushed the third passenger toward the ditch, and both deputies jumped into the ditch. The truck sideswiped both patrol vehicles and continued west.

The first patrol vehicle sustained the most damage. The woman sustained minor injuries and was transported by EMS to Ascension Via Christi. The man did not receive any injuries. At around 3:45am, one of the deputies located the truck. The driver was identified as 25-year-old Austin Lallemand, of Walnut. Lallemand showed indications that he was under the influence. He was arrested and transported to the Crawford County Jail and booked in on several charges related to the hit and run.
