Solar Eclipse To Happen on April 8

There will be a solar eclipse visible in the middle of the U.S. coming up on April 8th.

In the Coffeyville area, the eclipse will begin around 12:30pm. While the path of totality will cover parts of Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Missouri, Ron Mallory of the Kansas Astronomical Observers says it will just miss the Coffeyville area.

Mallory adds that those who plan to view the eclipse should wear proper eye protection. The next solar eclipse that will be visible in the U.S. will occur in 2044.
