A seven year old child suffers serious injuries after a dog attack in Monett.

 The child, who is from Aurora, MO, was a guest at the home where the dog attack occurred on Wednesday. The boy was transported by emergency personnel to a Kansas City hospital for treatment.

The mixed breed dog involved in the attack was also the subject of a bite incident last October. The animal's owner was cited for having a Vicious Animal as a result of that incident and has a court date pending in May for that case.

Monett Animal Control is holding the dog and police say there is no danger to the public.
