U.S. Senator Jerry Moran is focusing on Southeast Kansas.

 

Yesterday, Moran visited Pittsburg, Baxter Springs and Coffeyville. Moran made a major announcement of almost $166,000 in funding for the Baxter Springs Police Department. Moran says more people are realizing that defunding the police is not the answer.

 

In Coffeyville, Moran visited with City and Emergency Preparedness officials and the Army Corps of Engineers to see what the needs are when it comes to flood control and how he may be able to help. Moran says he's witnessed the devastation of Coffeyville's recent floods.

 

Moran says he's glad to see progress happening in the area.

 

Moran also visited a manufacturer in Pittsburg during his day in southeast Kansas.
