The Kansas Bureau of Investigation is investigating the death of an inmate at the El Dorado Correctional Facility.

 39 year old John Lewis Wardrup was found dead in his cell earlier today. Staff and EMS both administered life-saving measures but were unable to revive him. The cause of death is pending the results of an autopsy.

Wardup was serving a sentence for violating conditions of supervised release based on a conviction in Sedgwick County and in violation of the Kansas Offender Registration Act.
