Fugitive Wanted in Southwest Missouri Taken Into Custody by U.S. Marshals

 

 U.S Marshals take a wanted fugitive into custody near the Missouri/Oklahoma state line.

 Around 3:45 yesterday afternoon, authorities took 30 year old Scott Burleson into custody without incident. Burleson as been on the run since a March 2nd incident in which he is accused of stabbing and killing 36 year old Seth Langford of Carl Junction. The alleged stabbing occurred along State Line Road near Galena.

Around 2pm yesterday, Burleson was reported to be driving a stolen pick up truck near Southwest City, MO. U.S. Marshals began pursuing the vehicle and chase speeds reached 90mph. Burleson crashed the pickup through a fence and into a wooded area where he continued to flee on foot. Marshals using K9 officers eventually located Burleson and took him into custody without incident.

Burleson was taken to the Jasper County Jail where he faces charges of 2nd Degree Murder, Armed Criminal Action, and 1st Degree Robbery.
